Seahawks and Qwest to Salute the Armed Forces on Game Day

KIRKLAND, WASH. - Qwest and the Seattle Seahawks have partnered with America Supports You to encourage fans to send emails, postcards and letters to the soldiers at home and abroad. 

America Supports You is a nationwide program launched by the Department of Defense. It recognizes citizens' support for our military men and women and communicates that support to members of our armed forces at home and abroad.

Through the Web site, www.americasupportsyou.mil, anyone can log on and find activities to participate in. Fans attending the game can send a message of support to the troops or download materials that let them show their support in their communities.

The Seahawks have many game day activities planned for Military Appreciation Day including:

- Pre-recorded messages from area service men and women shown throughout the game on Hawk Vision.
Seahawks fans will be able to send messages of support to troops overseas from the Qwest kiosk in Touchdown City.
- Fly-over by four (4) Army OH-58 Helicopters
- Anthem will be performed by the Voices of McChord
- All-volunteer group consisting of both active duty and reserve Air Force members.
- Presentation of Colors by VFW and American Legion representatives
- Approximately 15,000 America Supports You Dog Tags & Postcards will be distributed.
- All retired and active military personnel will be recognized during pre-game.
